Releasing tension

When we work out we are repeatedly told to relax our bodies. But what does that really mean?
To me, it is releasing tension, allowing the body to soften down and become grounded. To do this we have to be completely aware of every part of our body and allow our minds to control every body part.
Not only this, you must be aware of your breathing and where your breath is carried around you. We tend to carry tension around with us all day long and use too much muscle power when we move without listening to our bodies telling us to relax. As easy as it sounds; it isn't and it takes consistent and frequent practice and effort... as ironic as it sounds.
Next time you come and train or are working out at the gym, try your best to be aware of every body part and let yourself release the tension you have been carrying.
